Bat Season Competition 2016

Screen Shot 2017-01-23 at 3.39.26 PMWhat a treat we had with the bats this year! It seems that word among the bats is that Kasanka is the place to be because the numbers look like they are increasing each year and they seem to be lazy to leave, staying that little longer before finally flying home with bellies full.

Each year we run our traditional “Batty Competition” to see who could most accurately predict the arrival and departure date of the bats and the length of their stay. We had some good predictions with a lovely prize up for grab but we have a winner!

These are the dates that were recorded at the lodge: the bats arrival date was the 2nd October, their departure date was the 3rd January and the total amount of time spent at Kasanka Park was 93 days.

We would like to congratulate Muriel Gindley-Ferris who is our winner and whose predictions were very accurate indeed. Muriel has won a full board 2 night stay at Wasa Lodge for Bat Season this year.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition and hopefully we can welcome you all to Kasanka in the near future.
