About the Kasanka Campsites

There are currently 5 camping sites available for visitors in Kasanka.
3 campsites are near the Pontoon along the Kasanka river, 1 at Kabwe and 1 at Bufumu.

Pontoon 1

General Information: Great for large groups. Statistically our most popular campsites mainly due to their stunning location in an evergreen forest overlooking a swamp clearing favoured by sitatunga. Also close proximity to the Bat Forest and Fibwe Hide.

Pontoon 2

General Information: Quiet and with a beautiful setting overlooking a lovely grassland. Located midway between the Bat Forest and Bufumu Forest allows for a complete mix of wildlife and birding experiences.

Bufumu

General Information: A remote campsite near the “Tall Tree.” Includes a fantastic 14 m tall “Canopy Tower” which overlooks the Mateshe, and with great view of “the Big Tree”. The birding from here is amazing, all at or below eye-level!

NOTE TO ALL CAMPERS:

The availability of these sites depends on conditions and bookings so please enquire before arriving for camping.

Campers should bring all their own tents and equipment, as the sites only have a simple toilet, shower and shelter. Staff are on hand to help with water.

There are no power outlets at the camp sites but you can charge camera batteries if necessary by arranging it through Wasa lodge. Heated water is provided by the camp attendants who will bring it to the ablution facility in buckets and they will also bring fire wood. There is no drinking water at the camp site but you can fill up containers from Wasa lodge where there is filtered borehole water available.
